Pi 2.0

I signed up for Pi 2.0 to learn more about myself and how I might be able to construct a blog independently and move more deliberately and competently into this new age. At the end of this course, I hope to be more skilled and knowledgeable of 2.0 as a learning tool. More importantly, I want to be more comfortable with the things I ask my students to do. 2 years ago I set up a blog with help from our librarian. I asked my students to post on it and with some reluctance they did. The problem with it was their posts needed to pertain to the class. There was a bright side of this, because one of the students went off to college and had to post on a blog for a history class.

I have found this class to be a wonderful learning tool on how to use 2.0. It is a marvelous tool for teaching. It has within the capacity to give voice to those who might not speak in class. There is research that supports this. It is a way of getting students to read about things they might not read, and of course, it is a great tool for creating very interesting and creative posts. Each year that I used a blog, students added great pictures, articles, and even music. I am excited to do the same and learn much more about Web 2.0–creating—creating—-communicating.
